All employees enrolled in an Aetna medical plan. Work 1-on-1 with a therapist, coach, or both in an eight-week program with two telephonic or video chat sessions per week. Sessions are offered to members dealing with the following examples:
Infertility issues, breast or prostate cancer recovery, heart issues, diabetes, digestive health issues, pain management, breathing problems, alcohol or substance use disorder, depression, anxiety or panic, postpartum depression, caregiving stress, grief or loss, and military transitions.

Transform Diabetes Care 2.0
Employees on the NBOE Aetna medical plan will be eligible to use Transform Diabetes Care 2.0 (TDC 2.0). This is a new personalized program offered by Newark Board of Education Wellness Program to make it easier to manage your diabetes, at no extra cost. The Transform Diabetes Care 2.0 program is a 12-month program that helps keep employee’s diabetes in check. Members received a customized guidance based on specific needs. With the Health Optimizer™ app, members can monitor their glucose and blood pressure; track and share readings; learn more about diabetes and maintaining a healthy lifestyle; make meals that align with dietary restrictions; and more.
If you are managing diabetes, you’re enrolled automatically. Soon you may see notifications, like emails, text messages and mailings as part of your new program. Additionally, ongoing, personalized nutrition coaching with Aetna registered dietitians is available at no cost. Aetna nurses, including certified diabetes care and education specialists, are available to address point in time questions and to provide ongoing coaching as needed.
